Tiny Pump has big Applications

Recent development of a minuscule pump has created a great deal of excitement. The microscopic peristaltic pump that is smaller than a penny is reputed to be the smallest pump in the world. The pump was created by president and founder of MicroDysis Inc., Joseph Z. Huang, who has more than 20 years experience in biomedical instrumentation, medical devices, genetic analysis research and microfluidic design. The low maintenance, cost-effective pump was originally created to be used with the many drugs and fluids in the medical industry. Specifically, the pump can be used for delivering drugs to patients who are unable to take their medicine in a timely manner. However, there are other applications beyond drug delivery such as pumping coolant through a laptop to remove excess heat.
