Electro-Mechanical Technician

Under minimal supervision, perform a wide variety of complex assembly tasks, including mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and electro-mechanical in support of building production machines and R&D prototypes.

3 to 5 years experience with electromechanical assembly. Knowledge of all aspects of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic assembly. Sound understanding of electrical and pneumatic components and schematics. Must understand inter-relationships of various subgroups to machine components and be able to perform troubleshooting and support testing on an assembled machine.

Ability to work independently from product documentation.

Adaptable in a changing work environment with regard to priorities. Ability to cooperatively work with others.

Willing to perform other duties such as kitting, expediting, and housekeeping.

Able to travel occasionally for machine installation or servicing.

High school diploma required. Additional education (Certificate or Associates degree) in technical field would be beneficial. Some experience working as a machinist would be helpful, but not required.

Position includes design and specifications of complex, high-end custom automation equipment and systems. The engineer will be responsible for multiple controls projects and must be skilled in all phases of controls projects.

  • development of installation plans
  • documentation
  • integration of machine controls
  • installation, startup, testing, and debugging of equipment at client site and provide field service and support
  • 7-10 years experience with controls design and implantation, ideally in an automation environment
  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • SolidWorks proficiency
  • Understanding of electrical circuits, electronic devices, motors, instruments, sensors, and vision systems
  • Fluent in the use of Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
