McClellan Automation Capabilities

At McClellan Automation Systems we are driven to apply engineering excellence to all that we do, from
early R&D and Pilot Scale projects to Fully Automated production ready custom automation systems. We
strive to provide world class custom automation solutions through designing machines that perform from
the time they are taken off the truck and put into place on your floor or in your cleanroom. The
application of talent and precision is not reserved for automation engineering alone; we apply the same
precision to our project management systems to complete your custom automation projects without
unwelcome surprises.

There are many factors for determining assembly automation equipment justification and implementation. There are dominant factors that seem to be common among the majority of McClellan's clients, yet each of McClellan's Clients is influenced by variables that make each project unique.

Accomplishing multiple assembly steps and processes with throughput rates of just a few parts per minute (ppm) to several hundred ppm. McClellan offers stand-alone and fully integrated rotary table systems.

If your product requires a feed-through type system, our engineers will utilize their linear conveyor system experience to provide you the synchronous process control, accuracy, and speeds needed in any application.

McClellan has extensive experience with automatic axial o-ring installation around cylindrical parts. Our customized o-ring installation system consists of a vibratory feeder and singulator, a “dead” nest equipped with sensors, and a customized pick and place system that is equipped with mechanisms that gently pick up the individual o-ring, stretch it over the mating part, and strip it off so that it remains in place.

Pick and place systems

McClellan Automation has the capability to design and build custom pick and place equipment to your specifications. Pick and place systems designed by our automation engineers are distinguished by their exceptional efficiency and precision, resulting in an increase in output as well as long-term savings for our Customers.

Find out how McClellan Automation is equipped to provide the best project experience possible. A leader in custom automation engineering, McClellan assures quality service at all stages of the project, delivering state-of-the-art automation equipment as a result.

McClellan's highly skilled machinists run an in-house machine shop to handle most any fabrication requirements. Working prototypes can be created for the designers so they may test their concepts before incorporating them into their designs. Changes and improvements to the process or mechanisms can be made quickly and cost effectively.

McClellan's engineers employ the latest analysis techniques to solve even the toughest design problems quickly and efficiently.

The manipulators are designed to provide a full range for of controlled motion disposable mass cell propagation growth devices. The manipulators have preset repeatable positions for seeding, equilibrating, trypsinizing and harvesting cells. The manipulators are available in either a free standing floor model or a unit that will fit on a standard laboratory bench top.

McClellan takes a consultative approach before any factory automation system project begins.  We develop a thorough understanding of the project variables, and then conceptualize and propose an automated solution that is uniquely suited to fit our Client.  Our automation engineers are experts in designing and building custom state of the art factory automation systems as well as integrating additional components into your existing automation system.  Our engineers have the experience and knowledge to guide customers with product development making it suitable for automation.

We design and manufacture custom fluid dispensing systems for epoxy potting materials, wax drug suspensions, silicone lubricants, liquid reagents and other materials.

Our automation engineers will use their extensive Fluidics experience with a wide variety of pumps to solve your difficult pumping problem. Utilize our ability to pump from low viscosity fluids like water using standard pumping systems, to up to 300,000 cps. with custom designed pumps.

We have integrated and installed positive displacement pumping systems that dispense volumes ranging from liters to nano liters with accuracy of 0.1% of total volume. Our engineers have experience with difficult control problems where volumes, rates, dwells, etc. must be changed "on the fly" via RS232 communications or analog inputs to the pumps.

McClellan Automation Systems is an experienced integrator of machine vision systems. When appropriate, McClellan installs machine vision systems online at one to several stations on automation systems for real-time assembly inspection and/or component part inspection. In addition to providing machine vision systems on automation systems, McClellan can integrate vision systems on the Client's existing machinery, or start by providing a table top system to be used to test, learn, develop, or prove the vision application.

The Silicone Atomization Spray Chamber was designed for use by the Medical Device Industry for coating a variety of medical devices with a precise, repeatable, small volume of medical grade silicone oil.
